Regional Golf

Brownstown Central, Seymour

After all the rain we got over the weekend postponed the IHSAA Girls’ Golf Regional to Monday, Seymour and Brownstown Central traveled to Country Oaks in Montgomery to compete in their postseason competition.

Castle (317), Bedford North Lawrence (332), and Evansville Memorial (361) all advanced to the state competition.

Unfortunately, the season would end for both schools. Seymour ended in 8th place with a 394, while Brownstown finished in 10th with a 399. Brownstown tied with Gibson Southern for 9th, but since their fifth-place score was higher than BC, they were given the higher place.

Shana Spray carded an 89 to lead the Lady Owls, followed by a 95 from Katie Cottrill and a score of 98 from Emmy Followell. Caroline Dennis recorded a 112, while Emily Windley had a 120 in their final rounds of the season.

Khloe Lingenfelter and Jayda Clodfelder both scored the low round of 92 for the Lady Braves. Abby Schroer followed with a 97, while Claire Brelage ended with a 118 and Mairi Shaw had a 126.
