The Ultimate Owl: Parking spot dedicated to late Seymour principal

Seymour High School’s staff became involved in the annual student parking lot painting for seniors for the first time this year.

Jill Prange recruited Karmen Johnson and Kennedy Franklin, former students she taught as an English teacher in their freshman years, to help her bring her vision to life.

At her parking spot, an owl, representing Prange, is painted, sitting on top of a stack of books, since she was an English teacher at SHS for 26 years and currently serves as librarian, overseeing all of the Seymour Community School Corp. libraries.

What makes this spot so special is its dedication to former SHS principal and Prange’s late husband, Greg Prange. He is represented by the silhouette of an owl soaring through the sky.

“Greg Prange, the Ultimate Owl, flying high in heaven,” she said. He passed away on Saturday, May 25, of this year after a bout of cancer.
