Seymour

The Owls played Jennings County in the second round of the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament on Wednesday, defeating the Panthers, 4-1 to advance to tonight’s final. The Owls improved to 16-2 on the season.

Seymour hosts Floyd Central tonight at 4:30 in the HHC Championship.

Brownstown Central

The Braves won another match on Wednesday, defeating Charlestown 4-1. Smith Hackman and Chase Brock won their singles matches, while Pierson Wheeler and Lane Steward won their doubles matchup.

Max Peters and Brady Davis defeated the Charlestown second doubles team. The win improves Brownstown to 9-6 on the season and they host Madison tonight for a match at 5 p.m.

The Lady Braves dominated Austin on Tuesday night in straight sets, winning 25-8, 25-9, and 25-11.

Brownstown Central improved to 20-2 on the season, and travels to Jennings County for a match tonight with the Panthers at 7 p.m.

Seymour

The Lady Owls faced Silver Creek on Tuesday night, falling to the Dragons, 25-21, 25-20, and 25-9. Greer Henry recorded 12 kills to lead the team, while Anna Fish had 9. Maggie Braman and Henry both had one ace.

Seymour fell to 15-10 on the season and hosts New Albany tonight for a match at 7 p.m. Silver Creek won the JV match, 25-14, 21-25, and 12-15.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars competed in the Scottsburg Invitational on Tuesday night. Rafe Wells of Salem won the boys’ race. Trinity’s Oliver Eggersman finished in 15th, clocking a time of 19:31.07. Nathan Negrete followed in 23rd with a time of 20:10.91, while Sam Dyer ended in 65th with a time of 24:50.22.

Cheyenne Campbell had the best finish for the Lady Cougars with a 13th place, clocking a time of 25:12.98. Elizabeth Downey finished in 22nd with a time of 27:48.50. Emma Mellencamp ended in 36th for Trinity with a time of 29:51.40.

Salem won the boys’ meet, while Charlestown won the girls’ side.

The Lady Owls traveled to Jennings County on Tuesday, dropping the match with the Panthers 2-1.

Ana Dominguez-Javier scored the lone goal for the team, on an assist from Ella Brock. Seymour goalkeeper Maggie Calhoun recorded two saves in the loss.

Seymour hosts Columbus East next Thursday for a game at 7 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars traveled south to face Charlestown on Tuesday night, falling to the Pirates 3-0. Trinity hosts Bedford North Lawrence tonight at 6 p.m.

Three games remain after that for the Trinity regular season, traveling to Southwestern (Hanover) on Monday before hosting Providence Cristo Rey on Tuesday, then traveling to Indianapolis Lutheran next Thursday for their final game of the 2024 regular season.
