The racing action returned to the Brownstown Speedway on September 14 after taking a one-week break. There were five racing divisions on hand for the evening.

Tyler Cain of Seymour scored his third straight P3 Graphix Indiana Late Model Series Pro Late Model feature win, making it his sixth win of the year. Jug Wethington would lead the first twenty laps of the feature event with Cain staying close. Cain using the high side took over the lead with five laps remaining and went on to get the win. Wethington, Skyller Lewis, Rick Gumm, and Tyler Neal rounded out the top five.

Colton Sullivan of Columbus became the ninth different winner of the year in the Pewter Hall Super Stocks. Tucker Chastain led the first half of the race before sliding over the bank. Tanner Chastain took over the lead with Sullivan in tow. The duo would be side-by-side on the last lap of the race and coming off turn four to the checkers they would have to navigate around a slower car. Sullivan would get to the checkers first for his first win of the year. Following Sullivan and Tanner Chastain was Greg Amick, Blake Hull, and Broc Burton.

Hunter Perry of Columbus would visit victory lane for the second time this year in Crossroads Truck Equipment Pure Stocks. Perry led all twenty laps and held back all challengers in route to his victory. Brent McMillan, Preston Carr, Keaton Streeval, and J.T. Huffman trailed Perry at the finish.

Ryan Woods of Springville would get his first ever Brownstown Speedway win in the Crown Vic division. Woods held the lead for all twenty laps of the feature event but received heavy pressure from Matt Cranmer and Todd Cain during the race. Cain, Cranmer, Eric Lewis, and Dalton Fleenor would end up second to fifth after battling side-by-side most of the race.

Curtis Roccia of Columbus parked in victory lane for the second time this year in the Hornet division. Roccia took over the lead on lap three from early race leader Michael Brewer and would lead the rest of the way for the victory. Roccia took the checkers ahead of Preston Righthouse, Jamie Ogle, Skylar Ashley, and Taylor Alcorn.

Shatto wins at Tony Stewart Speedway

Evan Shatto of Columbus won the All-Star TQ Midget feature on September 14 at the Tony Stewart Speedway in Columbus. Johnny Goff was second followed by Collin May, Logan Prickett, and Joey Paxson.

The next All-Star TQ Midget race will be the Ashlea Albertson Memorial Race on September 28 at the Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis.

Jameson wins at Lawrenceburg

Hometown driver Jason Jameson won an emotional late model feature on September 14 at the Lawrenceburg Speedway. The week his crew chief Jeff Gullett passed away Jameson scored a

$5,000 to win late model feature race. Kody Evans was second followed by Rusty Schlenk, Devin Gilpin, and Adam Strickler.

Matt Hamilton won the modified feature over Jason Hollon, Brian Gray, Jay Greene, and Josh Davis.

Lawrenceburg will be idle until October 11 and 12.

This week in racing history

From 50 years ago at the 25th Street Fairgrounds Speedway in Columbus Jack Smith won the hobby stock feature over Chuck Terry, Vic Rains, Russ Smiley, and Ron Hoover.

From 50 years ago this weekend at Twin Cities Steve Trabue won the late model feature over Alan Scott and Bob Ham. Jack Smith won the hobby stock feature over Powell Ballard and Curly Mahoney Jr.

From 40 years ago in 1984 at Lawrenceburg Kelly Kinser won the sprint car feature over Kenny Jacobs, Kerry Norris, Jack Hewitt, and Allen Barr. Matt Gilardi won the late model feature over John Holt, Robert Hensley, Dennis Boknecht, and Willie Klepper.

From 30 years ago in 1994 at the Martin County Speedway in Loogootee Joe Lucas won the street stock feature over Greg Kendall, Steven Godsey, Troy Dishong, and Randy Wininger. Gary Herbert won the modified feature over Bob Fleetwood, Harry Shepherd, Mike Bowersox, and Danny Claycomb. Jim Stiles won the bomber feature over Mark Robbins, Ron Witt, Jerry Kluesner, and Curtis Knieriem.

From 20 years ago in 2004 at Brownstown John Gill won the late model feature over Mike Jewell, Frankie Coomer, Dan Sturgeon, and Mark Barber. Jesse Cramer won the modified feature over Brady Short, Earl Plessinger, Matt Boknecht, and J.D. Roberts.

Also, in 2004 at Lawrenceburg Phil Gressman won the All-Star Circuit of Champions sprint car feature over Byron Reed, Bobby Clark, Paul May, and Chad Kemenah.

From 2004 at Bloomington Kent Christian won the sprint car feature over A.J. Anderson, Matt Westfall, Kevin Briscoe, and Bryan Clauson. Brady Short won the modified feature over Jesse Cramer, Shelby Miles, Lee Hobbs, and Greg Deckard.
