Seymour

The Owls picked up a match win over Columbus East on Tuesday at Shadowood Golf Course. Seymour edged the Olympians by 4 strokes.

Emmy Followell earned medalist honors for Seymour with a score of 44. Shana Spray followed with a 46, while Katie Cottrill a 49 for the Owls.

Caroline Dennis recorded a 52, while Emily Windley ended her round with a 56 for Seymour.

The Owls battled Martinsville on Tuesday evening falling to the opposing team 4-1. Marckenson Paul had the lone goal for Seymour, assisted by Dominic Dennis. Goalkeeper Lance Hubbard recorded 5 saves. Seymour’s JV team won their match 2-0 to improve to 3-3-2 on the season.

Seymour will travel to New Albany tomorrow for a game at 7 p.m.

The Owls defeated Hoosier Hills Conference opponent in New Albany on Tuesday night. The win improved Seymour to 9-2 on the season. Owls No. 2 Carter Stein defeated Corbin Crone, 6-3 and 6-2 to win his match. Dane Thompson defeated Asher Chaudhry, 6-2 and 6-1.

Shun Takeuchi and Joel Stevens won the No. 1 doubles match over Cooper Anderson and Caleb Bradshaw, 6-3 and 7-5.

The Braves battled Corydon Central on Tuesday night, defeating the Panthers 4-1. The win is the fourth of the season for the team. Corydon won the second doubles match, while Brownstown won the rest of the matches.

Brownstown No. 1 Smith Hackman defeated Trey Wiley, 6-3, and 6-1. No. 2 Chase Brock defeated Dylan Adams, 6-2, and 6-2. Brady Davis won his singles match over Brogan Teeter.

Lane Steward and Max Peters defeated T-Mac Wilkerson and Devon Murphy in the first doubles match.

The Braves host Bedford North Lawrence tomorrow at 5 p.m.

The Lady Braves grabbed a conference win over Charlestown on Tuesday night. Defeating the Pirates in straight sets, 25-16, 25-11, and 25-16.

Sophie Wischmeier led the team in kills with 15, followed by Kinzee Dean’s 8. Alex Davidson led the team with 4 aces, followed by Finley Wheeler’s 3.

The JV team also swept Charlestown, winning 25-8 and 25-14. Brownstown Central hosts Silver Creek tomorrow at BCHS at 7 p.m.

The Hornets traveled to face Southwestern (Shelby) on Tuesday, dropping the volleyball match to the Spartans in three sets.

Southwestern defeated Medora, 25-4, 25-13, and 25-11 to secure their 9th win of the 2024 season. The Hornets will travel to Orleans for a game on Thursday at 6 p.m.
