68, died peacefully at her home in Las Vegas, NV on July 27, 2024. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Robert Thomas, her parents Rowland & Patricia Deputy and nephew Chad Eldridge.

Linda grew up in Seymour IN before moving to Austin TX where she lived most of her adult life. In 2018 she moved to Las Vegas.

Linda loved animals, Native American art, music & even performed in a local band in Austin TX. She worked at several jobs throughout her life including, The Pines in Seymour, Photographer & as Audio/Video editor at a PBS Station in Austin, TX.

Linda’s husband Bob was very involved in Auto Racing. He was a Master Technician for Mercedes Benz. Therefore they traveled a lot to race their own Mini Cooper & also as Pit Crew for numerous drivers & races around the world. Linda’s love for racing & animals brought her to Manor Downs, the oldest pari-mutuel horse racing track in TX where she worked for several years.

Linda was also very passionate about helping others. She volunteered to help Hospice patients & late in life she was helping incarcerated recovering addicts.

Linda is survived by her sister Carol Oktavec (Tom deceased) & her brother John Deputy (Debbie), nephews Shane Eldridge (Cathy Tays), Brett Eldridge, Thomas Oktavec (Crissy), Ryan McIntire (Krista) and niece Sara Jones (James) as well as numerous great nieces & nephews.

There will be a celebration of life service in memory of Linda on Friday Sept 20th at 5:30 pm at Rockford Community Church 1934 N. Ewing St, Seymour, IN. Friends may call at the Church from 5:30 pm until time of the Service.
