Seymour

The Owls traveled to Jennings County on Thursday for a match with the Panthers. Seymour fell to their conference opponent 3-0. Jennings County won the match 25-18, 25-12, and 25-23.

Greer Henry led the team in aces with two. Zoe Williams led the Owls in kills with eight of them, followed by Emerson Johnson who recorded seven of them.

Seymour’s JV team lost 25-12, and 25-17.

The Owls will go to the Avon Invitational this morning starting at 9 a.m.

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves defeated New Albany to improve to 10-0 during the 2024 season. Brownstown defeated the Bull Dogs 25-21, 25-21, and 25-20 to grab the win.

Alex Davidson led the team in aces with two. Sophie Wischmeier racked up 15 kills, while Addison Darlage had seven for the Braves.

Brownstown’s JV team also won their match, defeating New Albany 25-18, and 25-13.

The girls will go to the Early Bird Tournament at Providence High School this morning at 9 a.m.

The Cougars faced Hauser on Thursday evening, tying the Jets in a 1-1 contest. Trinity now sits at 2-4-1 on the season and will have some time off before their next game.

The Cougars host Bedford North Lawrence next Saturday at 11 a.m.

Brownstown Central

The Braves fell to Austin on Thursday evening 3-2 on the tennis courts. Smith Hackman secured the win over Javin Smith, 7-5, and 6-3. The No. 1 doubles team of Pierson Wheeler and Lane Steward won their match over Xander Richie and Brooks Swank, 6-1, and 7-5.

Brownstown Central will be back in action on Monday against Southwestern (Hanover) at 5 p.m.

The Lady Braves competed at Stonecrest Golf Course on Thursday evening, dropping the meet to Bloomington South by 11 strokes. The Panthers had a score of 169, led by Macy Hayes’ score of 35.

Abby Schroer had the low round for Brownstown with a 41, followed by Jayda Clodfelder’s 42. Khloe Lingenfelter followed with a 45. Mairi Shaw had 52, while Claire Brelage recorded a 56 and Kinsley Schroeder had 62.

The Braves and Lady Braves competed in the North Harrison Invitational on Thursday evening. The boys finished in second place, behind second and third place finishes from Shane and Chance Ratliff.

Eli Crockett followed in 11th, while Logan Chavarria ended in 27th. Damien Owens ended his race in 33rd for Brownstown.

Kaylee Steward led the Lady Braves with a 14th place finish. Trinity Cody was next in 47th, while Chelsie Combs ended her race in 54th.

Jasper won both meets on Thursday night. Brownstown will compete again next Saturday in the Brown County Invitational at 8:30 a.m.
