Two arrested for drug-dealing following investigation

Two Washington residents have been arrested on felony drug dealing charges following an investigation by the Indiana State Police Sellersburg Post All Crimes Policing squad.

Stephen G Cole, 61, and Tina Albertson, 57, both of Scottsburg, face a Level 2 felony charge of dealing methamphetamine along with a Level 4 felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and Class A misdemeanor charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession for paraphernalia, according to a news release from Sgt. Carey Huls.

Huls, the post’s public information officer, said Cole also faces a Level 4 felony of unlawful possession of a firearm by serious violent felony, while Albertson faces an additional charge of possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle.

The investigation began in August of this year with Trooper Kyle Taylor received information of possible drug activity at a Smith Road address in rural eastern Washington County.

As a result of information gained during the investigation, Taylor requested and received a search warrant for the address.

On Wednesday, Taylor and other members of the Sellersburg ACP squad executed the search warrant. During the search officers located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, currency, marijuana and a firearm, Huls said.

As a result of the investigation and search, officers arrested the occupants of the home, Cole and Albertson. The two were transported to the Washington County Jail without incident in Salem.
