IDEM Forecasts Air Quality Action Day today in Southeast Indiana Region

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has forecast an Air Quality Action Day (AQAD) for today..

Levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range (Orange) today in the following area:

Southeast Indiana, including the towns and cities of Brownstown, Corydon, Crothersville, Jeffersonville, Madison, Medora, New Albany, Salem, Seymour, Versailles and all others within the area.

Due to a high pressure system positioned to the east that continues its slow drift toward the Atlantic, conditions — including light winds, abundant sunshine and modest humidity — will create an environment conducive to ozone formation.

  • View air quality information for all Indiana counties, including a state map of affected counties
  • Learn more about Air Quality Action Days and recommended actions;
  • Learn more about ozone and fine particulate matter; and
  • Sign up for air quality alerts.
