The Jackson County Chamber will host its second First Responders Appreciation Breakfast at 8 a.m. Oct. 25 at Pewter Hall in Brownstown.

Members of all Jackson County first responders such as police officers, firefighters, personnel with the Jackson County Emergency Medical Service and Jackson-Jennings Community Corrections are invited to attend this free event first held a year ago.

Attendees are asked to register for the event by sending an email to [email protected].

The chamber also is inviting Jackson County first responder departments to apply for a matching grant from the Jackson County Chamber Foundation. The grant request should be for department training or equipment that will improve life safety service to county residents.

Each request can be for up to $500 of matching funds. Completed applications are due no later than Oct. 4. To apply or receive information, email [email protected].

“We are thrilled to be hosting the Jackson County First Responders Breakfast in partnership with our event sponsors again this year,” chamber Director Dan Robison said. “This event gives us the opportunity to give back and show some respect and appreciation to the folks who serve our community with great commitment. The addition of the chamber foundation grant will hopefully increase the level of service provided to the community through training and equipment improvements.”

Businesses, organizations or individuals interested in supporting the breakfast or the chamber foundation should email [email protected].
