Programs planned for adults at Brownstown library

The Brownstown Public Library has announced their adult programs for September.

The Adult Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 to discuss “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig.

The books in the Midnight Library enable Nora Seed to live as if she had done things differently. With the help of an old friend, she can undo every one of her regrets as she tries to work out her perfect life. But things aren’t always what she imagined they’d be, and soon her choices place the library and herself in extreme danger.

The club provides an informal, congenial atmosphere for patrons 18 or older to share their literary interpretations of the current book selection. Everyone should read the month’s selection before the meeting but may attend even if they haven’t finished the book as long as they don’t mind hearing how the book ends. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion, but listeners are welcome.

Light refreshments are served by individuals from the group on a volunteer basis. Extra copies of the book selection are available one month in advance at the library circulation desk.

Registration is requested and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.

Craft Night will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 19.

Participants will make a pumpkin wreath. Registration is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853. The cost is $5. The class is limited to 10 as supplies and space are limited.

Crochet and Chat will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 26.

Do you know how to crochet and want to be around other people that do too? Have a project that you need a little motivation to finish? Do you get lonely working on your projects at home? Just want a little company? Join your fellow crocheters at the library for an hour of crocheting and chatting.

Knitters and other fiber artists are welcome. Some basic instruction can be provided if needed. Registration is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.
