Seymour

The Owls faced off with Scottsburg on Friday evening, defeating the Warriors 4-1. The Owls then defeated Brownstown Central on Saturday.

Seymour takes a bit of a breather after an action-packed opening week. The Owls travel to neighboring Jennings County for a match on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Girls’ Golf

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves hosted Scottsburg at Hickory Hills Golf Course in Brownstown on Friday evening. The girls grabbed a 16-stroke win over the Warriors 205 to 221.

Khloe Lingenfelter was medalist with a 43 for Brownstown, followed by Abby Schroer who carded a 47. Jayda Clodfelder added a 51, while Kinsley Schroeder recorded a 64. Claire Brelage and Mairi Shaw carded a 65, while Kayleigh Jernigan scored a 66.

Brownstown hosts Trinity Lutheran, Paoli, and West Washington tomorrow at 5 p.m.

Cross-Country

Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville

The Cougars and Tigers were both in action on Saturday morning at the Jeremy Wright Small School Invite at Southwestern (Shelby). Crothersville finished in 12th place on the boys’ side, while the Cougars finished the day in 24th.

Koby Davis led the way for Crothersville with a 19th place finish and time of 19:36.67. Oliver Eggersman was the highest placer for the Cougars at 63rd with a time of 20:13.67.

Cheyenne Campbell finished 47th on the girls’ side for Trinity, while teammate Elizabeth Downey finished in 64th.

Volleyball

Seymour

The Lady Owls volleyball team took care of business on Saturday against Madison, sweeping the Cubs in three sets to improve to 3-0 this season.

Seymour defeated Madison 25-17, 25-21, and 25-16 to stay unbeaten. The JV Owls also picked up a win, defeating the Cubs 25-11, and 25-19.

The Owls are back in action on Tuesday, hosting Columbus East for an HHC match at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Hornets hosted West Washington on Friday evening, losing to the Senators in three sets, 25-6, 25-15, and 25-8. Medora fell to 0-2 on the season and hosts Pleasant View Christian for a game on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The team then hosts Seven Oaks Classical on Thursday for a match at 7 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars opened their boys’ soccer season at home against Rising Sun on Saturday. Trinity dropped the match to the Shiners 3-1.

Alexander Damon scored the lone goal for Trinity Lutheran. The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday, hosting the Austin Eagles for a match at 6 p.m.

Girls Soccer

Seymour

The Owls faced off with Bloomington North on Saturday, dropping the meeting with the Cougars 4-1. Kenzi Henkle found the back of the net after a pass from Katy Roark. Daphne Wright, Caroline Farmer, Saanvi Patel, and Lena Henschel all scored for Bloomington North in the game.

Cougars Goalkeeper Isobel O’leary recorded six saves and allowed the one score. Seymour will travel to Batesville tomorrow for a matchup at 7:30 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars had two games to end their first week of the regular season. Trinity played Milan on Thursday, dropping the match 8-1, led by freshman Anyah Carrigan who scored the lone goal for the team.

Carrigan has both goals for the Cougars this season.

Trinity also played Rising Sun on Saturday, dropping their matchup with the Shiners 5-0. The team will host Austin tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Trinity will then travel to Silver Creek for a match on Tuesday at the same time.
