Twelve Seymour Tri Kappa Gamma Phi chapter sisters gathered at Glenda Proffer’s home on August 20 to kick off the 24-25 year of “Growing Together.”

The sisters enjoyed food pitched in by officers and fellowship catching up on summer activities. Returning officers are President Laura Cottrill, Vice President Julie Lemming, Recording Secretary Katherine Stahl, Corresponding Secretary Kristi Murphy and Treasurer Glenda Proffer.

Tri Kappa celebrated sponsoring the 2024 Jackson County Fair Queen, Carly Kaiser, who was an inducted sister in 2023. An article written about Nancy Bishop’s 70 years of Tri Kappa membership was also discussed.

Tri Kappa will be partnering with Vat and Barrel again for a social fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 27 for the Last Sips of Summer.

Choices include a four bourbon flight or a four cocktail flight that includes a traditional margarita, Pink Flamingo, Tiki High Road and an Amaretto sour slushie.

Tickets are $27 or $25 for two or more people. A small number of appetizers are provided, additional food will be available for individual purchase. Additional flights or other drinks can also be purchased. Only 30 tickets remain so go to bit.ly/seymourtrikappa to order tickets.

The meeting concluded with a reminder of the Anniversary Dinner pitch-in meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 17 in the Seymour High School cafeteria. All current and past members are welcome to attend.
