At the National Conference of State Legislatures legislative Summit in Louisville, Kentucky earlier this month, lawmakers from around the country elected Indiana District 44 Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford, to serve on the 2024-2025 organization’s executive committee.

As the governing body of the conference, the executive committee drives the organization by supervising and controlling the affairs of the conference, its committees and publications and deciding the organization’s ultimate positions on public policy.

“Serving on a bipartisan national committee for state legislatures is a profound honor,” Koch said. “It allows us to bridge divides, find common ground and craft bipartisan policies that reflect our diverse membership and needs of our communities. In this role, I am committed to fostering dialogue and civility, and working to serve the legislative institution through the services provided by NCSL.”

Koch has been an active member of the conference throughout his tenure as a state legislator. He also chairs the Indiana Senate Committee on Utilities and has served as co-chair of the conference’s task force on energy supply.
