Rita Lou (Barlow) Jones, 82, passed away peacefully at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was born in Seymour on January 14, 1942, to the late Robert and Edith (Noblitt) Barlow.

Rita married Aden Jones Jr. in December 1961, and they spent 59 wonderful years together until his passing in 2020. After she graduated from Seymour High School, Rita worked at Rose Acre Farms for ten years. Together, she and Aden enjoyed boating and camping at Rough River, Kentucky, and were members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Seymour. Rita attended Cornerstone Community Church.

Rita will be remembered as a social butterfly who was always ready to go out on an adventure. She loved to people-watch and was known for her crazy sense of humor. She enjoyed going out to eat, especially for dessert, and she loved shopping. She also liked to play BINGO.

Left behind to cherish Rita’s memory are her sons, Kevin (Karen) Jones and Greg (Lisa) Jones; grandchildren, Andy (Michelle) Anderson, Kelly (Michael) Pumphrey, Kayla (Devin) Robertson, Kenzi (Steven) Whitson, Brooke (Rowdy) Lemon, Brandy (Melinda) Jones, Brittany (Clayton) Darlage, Aden (Zoe Queen) Jones, and Ava Jones; sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Joy Sutherland and Carol (David) Nicholson; son-in-law, Todd Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aden Jones Jr.; her parents, listed above; her daughter, Natalie Fulton; her brother, Dan Barlow; and brother-in-law, Lynn Sutherland.

Funeral services for Rita will be held Friday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral Home, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor John Spivey will officiate. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday, August 22 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and again Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rita will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour immediately following the service.
