SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Edwin “Perry” Adams Jr., 73, of Seymour, Indiana, reunited with his parents Lillie Doris and Edwin Perry Adams, Sr. in heaven, on August 18, 2024.

He is survived by his son, Harvey (Crystal) Adams and three grandchildren Javon, Gracie, and Charlie Adams. Survivors also include three sisters Sandra (Ernie) Miller, Darlene (John) Deckard, and Edwina (Byron) Nieman, he has 2 nieces and 4 nephews, 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews that survive him.

He enlisted early to the U.S. Army and after 3 years he was honorably discharged after being awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He spent many years working and retired from Aisin U.S.A.

Perry’s hobbies included riding many miles on his bicycle, playing piano, capturing nature with his professional camera, deer hunting, riding his motorcycle, and catching up with friends. He was most recently known as the “Donut Man” at Autumn Trace, where he would pass out free donuts to the residents with his granddaughters on Saturdays.

He was the biggest cheerleader for his grandchildren, never missing a chance to be front row in all that they accomplished. His favorite pastime was spending time with them. To him they were his world. If he wasn’t behind a camera capturing cherished moments of them, he was cracking jokes and giving cow bites. He was always so proud of his son and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed visiting and giving treats to his grand-pup, Lilo.

He will be missed dearly and loved always.

Family and friends will gather Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. Services will be conducted by his cousin, Pastor Bob Adams. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 89 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family requests memorial contributions be made to Autumn Trace for a Donut Fund or Girls Inc. of Seymour, Indiana.
