Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars traveled north to face Center Grove on Monday evening. Trinity Lutheran defeated the Trojans in four sets; 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, and 25-13. The win put the team back to .500 at 2-2 on the season.

Rachel Bonde led the team in kills with 15 of them; Carson Bowling had 10 of them, Ava Blomenberg recorded 8 kills while Madison Keith had 7. Addison Darlage recorded the most Aces for the Cougars with 6 of them. Keith had four, while Laura Roeder recorded 3 in the winning effort.

Roeder also led in digs (30), while Darlage had the most assists (39). Bonde recorded 5 blocks to lead the team. The Cougars are back in action against the Christian Academy of Indiana at home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Girls’ Golf

Brownstown Central

The Braves competed in a golf triangular on Monday night at Western Hills Golf Course. Brownstown defeated West Washington and Eastern (Pekin) with a team score of 196.

Led by Abby Schroer, who earned medalist honors with a 45. Jayda Clodfelder recorded a 46, while Khloe Lingenfelter carded 47. Kinsley Schroeder recorded a 58 to round out the scoring.

The team competed at Springs Valley on Tuesday. Brownstown Central will be back in action Friday, hosting Scottsburg and Silver Creek at Hickory Hills Golf Course. The meet begins at 4:30 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls traveled to Otter Creek Golf Course on Monday for a match with the Olympians. Seymour secured the win by 14 strokes with a team score of 191.

Shana Spray and Emmy Followell earned medalist honors with the low score of 45. Katie Cottrill recorded a 49, while Emily Windley finished with a 52.

Seymour hosted Jennings County and Bedford North Lawrence on Tuesday evening. The Owls are back in action next Tuesday against Columbus North at 4:45 p.m.

Boys’ Tennis

Brownstown Central

The Braves hosted Paoli for their first boys’ tennis meet of the season on Monday. The team dropped the meeting 3-2. Brownstown split the doubles meetings and dropped two of three in singles action.

The team faced Jennings County on Tuesday and hosts North Harrison on Thursday evening at 5 p.m.

No. 2 singles: Johnny Shellenberger, (P) defeated Chase Brock, 6-1, 6-0.

No. 3 singles: Brady Davis, (BC) defeated Dakota Mousey, 6-1, 6-2.

No. 1 doubles: Lane Steward-Pierson Wheeler, (BC) defeated Klay Turner-Chad Sullivan, 6-1, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles: Blaze Knapp-Brian Fullington, (P) defeated Max Peters-Jace Reaser, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars traveled to Milan to face Oldenburg Academy on Monday in boys’ tennis. Trinity picked up the victory 4-1 over the Twisters.

Jack Stuckwisch and Ross Bevers won their singles matches for the team. Nathan Finke and Reed Roeder won their one doubles match and Brody Brown and Will Gausmann swept their opponent in the second doubles contest.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow on the road against Greensburg. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

Girls’ Soccer

Seymour

The Owls opened their girls’ soccer season at Salem on Monday night, exploding on offense for an 11-0 dominant win. Gabbi Guzman recorded the hat-trick with three goals.

Katy Roark, and Elsie Herbert added two more goals. Kenzie Henkle, Maria Jimenez, Ella Brock, and Fiona Toral added the other goals for the Owls.

Brock, Roark, Guzman, and Henkle all recorded two assists in the win. Maggie Calhoun and Dhamara Aguilar also picked up their first shutout of the season.

The girls will travel to Columbus North tomorrow for a game at 6:30 p.m.

Crothersville selling all-sports passes

Curtis White, athletic director at Crothersville, said the school is offering all-sport passes for the 2024-25 school year. The passes are $75 for seniors, $100 for a regular pass and $150 for a family pass, and that covers two adults.’

White said Crothersville students will be admitted free to all regular season sporting events.

The passes are not valid for IHSAA tournament games of holiday tournament games. The passes are on sale daily during school hours and will be available at Friday’s volleyball game against Borden.
