Brownstown Central

The Braves competed in the Warpath Invitational on Saturday. Brownstown secured a second place finish on the boys’ side and finished fourth in the girls’ race.

Shane and Chance Ratliff finished first and second in the boys’ race, with Shane setting the meet record with a time of 16:17. 20. Chance finished his race with a time of 16:37.40, while Eli Crockett finished in 14th, and Logan Chavarria ended the day in 21st. Damien Owens finished 24th, freshman Chase Blann ended in 51st place and Kayden Lingenfelter finished 63rd.

Kaylee Steward had the best finish for the Lady Braves with a 14th place, clocking a time of 23:31.60. Trinity Cody ended her race in 18th with Naomi McKain finishing right behind in 19th. Claire Schepman finished 37th with Jessica Pitts in 38th, Paisleigh Peters finished in 43rd.

The Braves will compete in the Seymour Invite on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Crothersville

The Tigers opened their 2024 cross country season at the Moores Hill Invitational hosted by South Dearborn on Saturday.

Crothersville finished in 3rd place with a team score of 68, led by Koby Davis who finished in third place with a time of 18:23.61. Senior Beau Napier ended his race in 12th place, while Kolton Blevins finished in 17th.

Brayden Heath finished 25th, Kaleb Moeller crossed the line in 34th with Braxton Riley behind in 35th. Josh Reynolds finished 40th and Gage Howard ended in 42nd.

Moores Hill Invitational — Saturday

Volleyball

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars began their 2024 season at Providence over the weekend, going 1-2 over three matches. The Cougars fell to Tri-West in four sets, 25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-24.

The team also fell to Castle in a thrilling five sets, 25-16, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 16-14. Trinity grabbed their win over Evansville Mater Dei in straight sets, 25-16, 25-23, 25-22.

Trinity travels to Center Grove tonight for a matchup with the Trojans at 7:30 p.m.

Girls’ Golf

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves competed in the Madison Invitational over the weekend. Brownstown finished in third place with two girls finishing in the top five.

Khloe Lingenfelter recorded a score of 88 with six pars during the 18-hole golf tournament, followed by Abby Schroer who finished fourth with a score of 93.

Jayda Clodfelder scored a 101, Claire Brelage finished with a 125 and Mairi Shaw ended with a 133. Center Grove would win the meet with a team score of 387, Brownstown had a team score of 407.

The Lady Braves are back in action tonight at Western Hills Golf Course for a match against Eastern (Pekin) at 5 p.m.

Madison Invitational — Saturday

Seymour

The Owls competed on the golf course on Saturday in the Franklin Invitational at The Legends Golf Course. Franklin Community won the meet with a score of 319, followed by Floyd Central’s 324 and Center Grove’s 332.

Seymour scored a 405, led by Shana Spray who carded a 95 during the 18-holes of work. Emmy Followell scored a 96, Katie Cottrill scored a 99 for the Owls, while Emily Windley finished with a 115.

Seymour faces off with Columbus East today at 4:15 p.m.
