Prickett wins All Star TQ Midget race at Tony Stewart Speedway

Logan Prickett won the All-Star TQ Midget feature race on August 10 at the Tony Stewart Speedway located at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds in Columbus.

Joey Paxson was second followed by Matthew Hedrick, Addison True, and Collin May. The rest of the top ten finishers were Logan Rabourn, Ronnie Combs, Landon Rabourn, and Josh Chastain.

Several winners in Jennings County Karts

The Jennings County Kart Track, which conducts events at the Jennings County 4-H Fairgrounds in North Vernon hosted 122 racers on August 10.

The division winners were Macy Staton (junior 2 purple plate, junior champ, junior 1 green plate), Travis Wilburn (clone sumo heavy, clone super heavy), Robby Young (clone medium, clone heavy), Cole Helton (kid kart), Travis Schomaker (rookie red), Cash Johnson (clone light), Luke Hannah (beginner champ), Ron Stillabower (pure stock 350), Robert Doyle (senior champ), Colby King (SBO), Leroy Blevins (RWYB), Daniel Burton (flathead), and Brandon Kelly (junior 3 blue plate).

Cain wins at Paragon

Tyler Cain of Seymour won the crate late model feature on August 9 at the Paragon Speedway. Steve Peeden was second followed by Marty O’Neal, Tory Collins, and Rick Gumm. Trent Young won the modified feature over Logan Mounce, James Walters, Tyler Loughmiller, and Lucas Pace. Lee Hobbs of Mitchell won the super stock feature over Tucker Chastain, Zach Sasser, Greg Amick, and Reece Novak.

Jadon Rogers of Worthington won the sprint car feature race on August 10 at Paragon. Jake Scott was second followed by Anthony Nicholson, J.J. Hughes, and Andrew Prather.

From 60 years ago in 1964 at Bloomington Larry Dickson won the super modified feature over Dick Gaines, Carl Williams, Jim Waltz, and Bob Kinser. Jack Owens won the figure 8 feature over Gene Petro. Chuck Tyler won the stock car feature over Owens, Petro, and Kenny Simpson.

Also, in 1964 at Paragon Dick Gaines won the super modified feature over Carl Williams, Larry Dickson, Calvin Gilstrap, and Cecil Beavers.

From 1964 Dick Smith won the Columbus Kart Club 50-lap feature over Dave Metz, Darrell Richards, Dale Burton, and Johnny Johnson.

From 50 years ago in 1974 at Brownstown Russ Petro won the late model feature over Paul Crockett and Ray Godsey.

In 1974 at Paragon Rex Mitchell won the sprint car feature over Frank Hollingsworth, Leon Thickstun, Larry Livingston, and Larry Curtis. Harold Sanders won the hobby stock feature over Rodney Ritter, Terry Buster, Kenny Hardin, and Donnie Collins.

From 50 years at the Whitewater Valley Speedway in Liberty Chris Fox won the late model feature over John Warner, Joe Doty, Roger Absher, and Robin Hayes. Howard Baldwin won the super six feature over Bob Smith, John Sparks, and jack Woodward.

From 40 years ago in 1984 at Brownstown Kenny Simpson won the Jackson 100 for late models over Bob Pierce, Billy Moyer, Paul Shafer, and Jack Boggs. Terry Eaglin won the modified street stock feature over Mike Jewell, Bill Norton, Don Barnett, and Roland Ashby.

Also, in 1984 at Twin Cities Merrill Wilson won the late model feature over Steve Boley, Buck Ross, Chuck Gilpin, and Rusty Huston. Merrill Downey won the modified street stock feature over Phil Fultz, Powell Ballard, Larry Gingery, and Willie Sallee. Ray Hughes won the street stock feature over Gregg Lyle, Duane Hobbs, Dan Sallee, and Kenny Poole.

From 40 years ago at the I-65 Speedway in Scottsburg Dick Phillips won the late model feature over Kenny Simpson and Lee Fleetwood. Mark Barber won the modified street stock feature over Terry Eaglin and John Mull.

From 1984 at Lawrenceburg Greg Staab won the sprint car feature over Randy Kinser, Ken Rice, Sheldon Kinser, and Paul Huntington. Robert Nichols won the UMRA Midget feature over Ralph Bickel jr., Bill Luse, Rick Meyer, and Bobby Sands

From 30 years ago in 1994 at Brownstown John Gill won the Jackson 100 for late models over Kevin Claycomb, Steve Barnett, Jack Boggs, and Jim Curry. Tim Clark won the street stock feature over Jerry Wilson, Greg Kendall, Jeff Hehman, and Chris Newcomb. Ray Godsey won the modified feature over Brad Barrow, Brett Davis, John Davis, and Robin Hobbs. Bret Ezzo won the bomber feature over Randy Sutton, Murl Robinson, Todd Richey, and Don Walp.

Also, in 1994 at Bloomington Tony Stewart won the USAC Midget feature over Mike Bliss, Randy Koch, Kenny Irwin jr., and Jerry Zike. Mike Bowling won the sprint car feature over Randy Kinser, Lee Blesch, Kevin Briscoe, and Todd Shields.

From 1994 at Haubstadt Lee Dunn won the sprint car feature over Randy Kinser and Jason Smith. Doug McCammon won the late model feature over Kevin Claycomb and Rick Carneal. Terry Messenger won the modified feature over Bruce Young and Buddy Cunningham.
