The Brownstown Public Library has announced adult programs for August.

The Adult Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. on August 9 to discuss “Hang the Moon” by Jeannette Walls, a riveting new novel about an indomitable young woman in Virginia during Prohibition.

The Adult Book Club provides an informal, congenial atmosphere for patrons over eighteen years of age to share their literary interpretations of the current book selection. Everyone should read the month’s selection before the meeting. Please feel free to attend even if you haven’t finished the book as long as you don’t mind hearing how the book ends. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion, but listeners are welcome.

Light refreshments are served by individuals from the group on a volunteer basis. Extra copies of the book selection are available one month in advance at the library circulation desk.

Registration is requested and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.

Craft Night is set to be held at 5 p.m. on August 15. Attendees will be upcycling metal bottle caps and turning them into flowers.

Registration is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853. The cost to attend is is $5.00. The class is limited to 10 as supplies and space are limited.

Crochet and Chat will occur from 5 to 6 p.m. on August 29. Attendees can join fellow crocheters for an hour of crocheting and chatting. Knitters and other fiber artists are welcome as well. Some basic crochet instruction can be provided if necessary.

Registration is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.
