Donald Allen “Pete” Bode 71, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at his home on July 19, 2024. Pete was born in Seymour, Indiana on October 16, 1952, to the late Francis Otto Bode and Ruth Irene Baute Bode.

He was a retired bus driver with Seymour Community Schools for forty-three years, was the owner/operator of Bode Excavating, and worked for Kings Trucking. Pete also farmed with his brother and enjoyed working.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Gregory Allen Bode. Surviving to cherish his memory is his daughter; Jennifer Phillips, grandchildren; Aaliyah Phillips and Johnnie Phillips, brother; Charlie Bode, and sister Beverly Gudgel.

Friends may gather with Pete’s family on Tuesday July 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm, at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274. Pastor James Rodriquez will officiate. Concluding services and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Pete’s memory to the Trinity Lutheran High School’s FFA Program.
