Tonja Couch, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Seymour, recently received two awards — the firm’s Spirit of Partnership Award for outstanding performance during 2023 and the Ted Jones Prospecting Award.

She was one of only 970 financial advisors firmwide to receive the Spirit of Partnership Award and one of 845 to receive the Ted Jones Prospecting Award.

“At Edward Jones, we work in partnership with our clients, helping them explore their possibilities and build a financial path toward their best lives,” Couch said. “I am honored that clients have entrusted me with their relationships and their financial well-being, and I am humbled to receive [the Spirit of Partnership Award].”

The Ted Jones Prospecting Award recognizes financial advisors who achieve high levels of success early in their careers.

The award is named after Ted Jones, the son of the firm’s founder, who became the firm’s 18th financial advisor in 1948 and served as managing partner from 1960 to 1980. Jones saw the opportunity to serve individual investors in communities and conceived the idea for a network of small branch offices based in local communities.

Today, there are nearly 16,000 branch offices in North America.

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized for the work that I do with clients, work that inspires me because it makes a difference in their lives,” said Couch. “And it’s a special honor to receive an award named after a firm legend such as Ted Jones, who set the standard for respect as a firm value — a value that continues to guide our work today.”

The Edward Jones, which uses a branch-office business model, has nearly 16,000 branches throughout North America and more than 19,000 financial advisors.
