County commissioners to meet Tuesday

Jackson County Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.

New business on the agenda includes updates from Centerstone, a contract with Astrophysics Inc., approval of the use of the courthouse lawn for MelonFest on Aug. 2-3 and an ordinance detailing the vacation of two platted alleys in the town of Surprise.

Also, there will be a talk about health insurance by Tyler Neal, a discussion about Jackson County cyber security led by Duane Davis, director of the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency, and J.L. Brewer, director of Jackson-Jennings Community Corrections, will speak before commissioners on a grant writer and nurse contract for program.

Commissioner meetings are open to the public and the press.
