Poplar Street Restaurant & Tavern is celebrating their building’s 100 year anniversary from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. both Friday and Saturday at the restaurant, 513 S. Poplar St.

The theme for the anniversary is “standing strong 100 years,” said Priscilla Wischmeier, owner of the restaurant.

Admission for the event is free. Live music will play from 7-10 p.m. both days, consisting of Dwight Hendrix Experience Friday and Soul Express Saturday on the patio. Free raffles, giveaways and patio games for all ages will be open throughout the weekend.

Darnell Dukes will be face painting from 4-6 p.m. Saturday.

There will be new food specials on the menu and brats and burgers on the grill.

“The community has been really good to us,” said Wischmeier.
