DUDLEYTOWN
Luella M. Holle, age 98, of Dudleytown, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2024, at Forest Path of the Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Born in Dudleytown on June 21, 1926, Luella was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Wehrkamp) Bobb. Mrs. Holle was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown, where she was baptized, attended school, confirmed her faith, and married her beloved husband Virgil Holle on September 24, 1950. They were married for 62 glorious years. Luella was a member of the LWML, Ladies Aide, and held various offices. She sang in the church choir, would regularly visit shut-ins and listened to “Know your bible” every morning on the radio. Luella had a very strong Lutheran faith and would faithfully attend church. Luella loved to witness and spread her love of God to her family, friends, and neighbors.
Luella worked at the Excello shirt factory in Seymour for seven years, then for 34 years she worked at Hulda’s Cafe under four different owners. She was a Farm Bureau pet and hobby leader and a caregiver for a few of her family members. During retirement, Luella and her husband Virgil could be found outside working with the lawn.
Luella cherished her family dearly. She loved visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always made sure you never left thirsty or hungry. She was a very sweet, thoughtful, and loving person. You could always expect to be given many hugs and compliments. Luella always had such an optimistic outlook on life and was diligently waiting to be called to her heavenly home.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Rhonda) Holle and Marvin (Karen) Holle; six grandchildren: Danny Holle, Amber (Ben) Williams, Lisa (Travis) Price, Kevin Holle (Sasha Hanna), Kelly (Matt) Klosterman, and Kayla Holle; twelve great-grandchildren: Austin Campbell, Zoe Williams, London Williams, Lindsey Klosterman, Kylie Price, Taylor Williams, Riley Williams, Olivia Klosterman, Jackson Holle, Trey Price, Vanessa Holle, Kate Klosterman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil; siblings and their spouses: Henry (Opal) Bobb, Eldor (Irma and Verna) Bobb, Lawrence Bobb, Leona (Leonard) Trimpe, Hilda (Henry) Vehslage, Hulda (Earl) Goecker; Nephews: Robert Goecker and Edward Bobb; Niece: Delores Benson.
Friends may visit with Luella’s family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana and at Emanuel Lutheran Church one from 10:00am until the funeral service. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2174 S County Road 750 E, Seymour, IN 47274, with Rev. Kenneth Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
