Medora Pentecostal Church will be hosting its fourth annual Freedom Celebration at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Medora Town Park, 119 W. First St., Medora.

This celebration brought somewhere between 1,800 to 2,000 to the town on July Fourth in 2023

Carr Township Fire Department and Medora Police Department provide assistance for the event.

Ten food trucks with a variety of food and drinks will be available as well as Medora-based vendors. Brown County Inflatables will have a slide, obstacle course and several other games for kids to play throughout the event.

Live music will be provided by the Medora Pentecostal Church featuring the children’s choir, adult choir, band and praise team.

There will be a booth to sign up for prizes such as an American flag, a leather backpack, patriotic quilts and several grocery and gas gift cards. The church will be giving away free concessions and bottled water.

Kids Connection, the children’s ministry at the church, also will have a booth featuring crafts for kids to make, games and a skit about Jonah. Infinite Youth, the youth ministry of the church, is providing a photo backdrop for guests to take pictures.

Straight Shooters Fireworks will be setting off fireworks beginning at dark. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or quilts to watch the show.

“It has grown in size each year,” said Faythe Gill. “The church’s vision statement is Bringing Hope and Building Lives. We feel that we do that through this event. It is an opportunity for friends and neighbors to gather for food and fun and to celebrate the USA in a safe atmosphere.”
