Party with a purpose at Lake Monroe Water Fund’s Beach Bash

The Lake Monroe Water Fund is planning the first Beach Bash which will include food and drinks, tropical music and more from 5 to 9 p.m. July 13 at a private beach at Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina.

Michelle Cohen, the fund’s executive director, said in a news release that proceeds from the event will support the fund’s operations and efforts to ensure clean water for human health, natural systems and quality of life in south central Indiana.

The event kicks off the 60th anniversary celebration of the construction of Lake Monroe reservoir. Several local organizations will participate in events from July through October, highlighting the importance of Lake Monroe as the state’s largest inland lake, drinking water source, regional economic driver, recreational destination and its wildlife habitat.

Guests will enjoy live music by Island Troy, performing Jimmy Buffett classics and tropical rock tunes. There also will be casual beach games.

Tickets are available for $60 each, with a discounted rate of $50 per ticket for groups of four or more. The menu includes cheeseburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings. A cash bar will be available.
