The building has been occupied by the Seymour Business College for several years, on the first floor, the second floor being taken up by apartments. The college will locate elsewhere in the city. Its school work will not be interrupted.

Hot dog! It’s summertime

Summer heat can affect pets as well as people, but proper precautions can turn your hot dog into Joe Cool.

Missy Rowda, shelter manager for the Jackson County Humane Society, said the problems she encounters have to do with proper water accessibility.

“The major thing is that they don’t have enough clean, cool water for their dogs,” she said.

Rowda suggests freezing water in an ice cream bucket or milk jug and allowing that to float in a large bucket of water for the animal if you are available to check the water during the day.
