Patricia A. Bischoff, age 99, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Born November 20, 1924, in Shelbyville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Russell E. Oakley and Regina F. (Rehme) Oakley. Patricia was a devoted wife to her late husband Curtis L. Bischoff, whom she married on October 25, 1947, in Beech Grove, Indiana. Together, they shared many years of love and companionship until his passing on August 13, 1993.

Patricia’s life was marked by a deep commitment to family, faith, and community. She worked as a clerk at Cartwright Pharmacy in Crothersville for over 32 years and was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A faithful parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Patricia was actively involved in various organizations including Anchor House, Ladies Guild at Schneck Medical Center, the Library Club, Daughters of Isabella, Happy Apronettes Home Ec. Club, and was an Auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She cherished these memberships and the friendships they brought throughout her life.

In her leisure time, Patricia enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, relaxing at the beach, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles, and indulging in her favorite Mary Higgins Clark novels. She was an excellent baker, avid reader and enjoyed card games, but above all, Patricia cherished moments spent with her beloved family.

Patricia is survived by her six children: Russell E. (Debbie) Bischoff of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Frank E. (Jenny) Bischoff of Cassopolis, Michigan, Gary W. (Rose) Bischoff of Crothersville, IN, Donna K. (Michael) DeShong of Hanover, IN, Jean M. Barnes of Clearwater, FL, Theresa J. (Rick) Batts of Fayetteville, GA and son-in-law, Rex Kovert of Crothersville, IN. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell E. and Regina Oakley, husband Curtis, two daughters Karen Louise Holloway and Margaret “Peggy” A. Kovert, great-grandson Jaxson Peet, and siblings James Oakley and Marilyn Bischoff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour, Indiana, followed by a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. A rosary service will precede visitation hours at 3:45 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
