Seymour

The Owls were shutout for the first time all season on Thursday, losing 4-0 to New Albany in the HHC Tournament Semi-Final. Seymour recorded the same number of hits as New Albany with six as a team. The Bulldogs took an early 3-0 lead after two innings, before cruising to the win.

Brownstown Central

The Braves hosted Charlestown on Thursday evening, playing the same number of innings as a Major League Baseball game. Brownstown would defeat the Pirates in 9 innings, winning 2-1 behind a run in the 8th and 9th innings.

Pierson Wheeler connected on a double to score Lane Pendleton, walking off the Pirates. An error in the 8th inning on a fly ball allowed Trent Lowery to reach base, scoring Jaxson Johnson on the play.

Lowery pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing one hit and fanning 9 batters. Johnson pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and one run, striking out one batter.

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves were able to hold off North Harrison, winning 11-7 behind an offensive explosion from Rylee May. May clobbered two home runs and picked up a double, racking up three RBI’s to lead Brownstown. Adelynn Anderson and Olivia Justice also recorded 2 RBI’s in the win.

May started on the mound, lasting three innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs. Kelsey Schneider finished the game, picking up the win, going four innings, allowing four hits and two runs.

Track and field

Crothersville

The Tigers competed in the Southern Athletic Conference meet on Thursday at Borden. Crothersville finished in fourth place with 57 points on the boys’ side, finishing sixth on the girls’ side with 16 points. Dirk Crater won the 1600 and 3200-meter run for the Tigers.

The team will compete in Sectionals next week.

The Braves and Cougars wrapped up their tennis meet, that was rained out last week. Trinity Lutheran was able to edge Brownstown 3-2 to secure the win.
