More storms headed this way

A second round of storms is expected to pass through south central Indiana between 3 and 10 p.m. today. That round of thunderstorms follows a less intense round of storms that passed through the area this morning.

Jackson County will remain at enhanced risk of straight line winds, hail and tornado activity later today, according to a news release from Duane Davis.

Davis, director of the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency, said the activity is more for central Indiana but Jackson County remains in the threat area.

According to the news release, the most likely time frame for tornadoes is 6 to 10 p.m. today. Supercells are expected to form in the late afternoon and evening. Tornadoes will be possible including a few strong EF2+ tornadoes and gain hail 2-plus inches and damaging winds also are possible with the supercells.
