Circulation Manager Christina Hime gave a staff report when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees held its regular monthly meeting at the Seymour Library on April 15.
Hime thanked the board for the April 8 solar eclipse closing, and she and Director Julia Aker also shared their recent experience at the Public Library Association Conference held April 2-5 in Columbus, Ohio.
Library Administrator Mary Reed, Head of Collection Development Monica Riley and Youth Services Manager Stephanie Sluder also attended the bi-annual conference.
The board approved a staff change, changes to the credit card and Accounts Policy and an after-hours teen lock-in on July 12.
They also tabled changes to the circulation policy pending recent Evergreen Indiana Shared Circulation Policy changes and a recommendation on spending $1,636 from the Community Foundation of Jackson County library fund and Tuesday Club library fund endowments.
The board also learned an adjacent property owner will go to the Seymour Board of Zoning Appeals on April 23 to request approval of a garage with a loft to become a living quarters.
The board’s next meeting is at 4:30 p.m. May 20 at the Seymour Library.
