Week 20 of the Lutheran Dartball League has passed.

It is hard to believe that this Monday is the climax to the 72nd edition of the Lutheran Dartball League. Time does fly when you are having fun! In week 20 league leading Sauers E Had a difficult match up against a very good Sauers B squad.

Hits did not come easy for Sauers E in game one and Sauers B ended up winning a 7-0 shutout. In game two Sauers B jumped out to a 9-0 lead. But Sauers E kept fighting and came all the way back to win 10-9.

That comeback propelled Sauers E to breeze thru game 3 winning 11-4. Those two wins for Sauers E gives them a record of 39-18 and a two game edge over second place Dudleytown Mets.

Like Sauers E, second place Dudleytown Mets started out cold in game one against a tough Immanuel Darty team. The Mets got singles in the first, second, third, eight and nineth innings but could not come up with a key hit to get them on the board. Darty ended up winning 3-0 scoring all three of their runs in the fourth inning.

The Mets started warming up in game two. The Mets scored first but Darty tied it up. The Mets added two more runs in the third but Darty tied it up in the fifth. The Mets took the lead for good with a run in the sixth and added two insurance runs in the nineth for a 6-4 victory.

The Mets finally had an easier time in winning game three scoring runs in 5 different innings. As they did in game one Darty could only score in one inning before losing 7-2.

White Creek N has climbed back into contention by winning their last 12 games. Monday’s onslaught came at the hands of Wegan A. During those 12 games White Creek has averaged just under 6 runs per game while their opponents have averaged 3 runs a game.

Wegan W dropped a little in the standings losing two games to Hayden Methodist. In a low scoring night Hayden won game one and three by scores of 3-1 and 3-2. Wegan W won game two 5-4.

Immanuel 1 dropped to six games behind the leaders by losing two games to Redeemer S. Redeemer S won the first two games 3-1 and 4-2 before Immanuel salvaged game three 2-1.

Monday closes out the regular season with some key matchups having Sauers E at Hayden, Dudleytown Mets at Immanuel 1, Borchers at White Creek N, Wegan W at Zion 2 and Wegan B at Sauers B.
