Linda Cheryl Acton, 74, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Schneck Regional Medical Center.

Linda was born October 14,1949 to the late Charles T. and Dorothy (Wesner) Plummer. She began her career as a respiratory therapist, but then fulfilled a lifelong dream by graduating from Ivy Tech and becoming a licensed practical nurse. Linda’s nursing career began at Schneck Regional Medical Center, and her passion was working labor and delivery, bringing new babies into the world. She loved animals, especially dogs, and most especially the “best dog ever,” Harper, her Jack Russell Terrier. She was an avid collector of Native American artifacts, including arrowheads. Linda enjoyed the outdoors, especially landscaping and working in her yard. She was a fan of country music, Elvis Presley, and the Grand Ole Opry.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carrie McCoy; granddaughter, Daelyn McCoy; cousin, Janice Arthur; and best friend, Karen McCoy.

She is preceded is death by her parents, listed above; and her daughter, Sarah McCoy.

Graveside services for Linda will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Leesville Cemetery, 929 15th Street Bedford, Indiana. Reverend Angel Armstrong, Trinity United Methodist Church of Seymour, will officiate. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Voss &Sons Funeral Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to an educational fund for Daelyn McCoy in c/o Karen McCoy.
