Diana Ray, regent for Fort Vallonia Daughters of the American Revolution, recently announced the second year for veterans banners in Jackson County.
They are now available to order for $150. For an order form, contact Ray at [email protected] or 971-570-4544. The application deadline is April 15.
This is an opportunity to honor a past or present member of the U.S. Armed Forces from Jackson County with a commemorative banner. They can be retired, honorably discharged or currently serving.
Banners will hang on Tipton Street in Seymour, along U.S. 31 in Crothersville and on U.S. 50 in Brownstown. They will be installed near Memorial Day in May and remain up until Veterans Day in November. After the season ends, the banners will be given to those who purchased them.
Photos must be no larger than 8-by-10 inches and no smaller than 5-by-7 inches. Only original photos or high-resolution copies will be accepted. A photo of the service member in uniform is preferred. If that’s not possible, a portrait photo will be allowed.
The photo must be clear and high quality on photo paper, and it must be print ready. No retouching is provided. No group photos are accepted, either.
