Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars battled Madison on Saturday night, outlasting the Cubs 69-65 to improve to 10-10.

Hudson Lang scored 20 points for Trinity in the victory. Reed Mellencamp added 16, Levi Pottschmidt chipped in 14 and Kowan Gross ended up with 10 points. Charlie Hackman had seven in the close victory for the Cougars.

Madison fell to 6-15 on the year.

Trinity has two games remaining in its 2023-24 regular season, hosting Greenwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday before traveling to Austin on Friday. Tipoff is expected to be at 7:30 p.m.

Crothersville

The Tigers hosted Henryville on Saturday evening, dropping the contest with the Hornets 71-51.

Beau Napier and Tymir Cromwell led the way with 16 points each. Dirk Crater added 13 for the Tigers, while Lucas Hilton and Mason Barger recorded three points.

Crothersville falls to 6-15 on the season and will be back in action Tuesday against Lanesville at 7:30 p.m.

The incoming Eagles are 3-16. Crothersville will then travel to Kentucky for their final matchup of the regular season on Friday against Trimble County. This school is located in Bedford, Kentucky, and will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Sectional basketball pairings

Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville and Medora

Pairings for the 2023-24 IHSAA boys basketball sectional tournament were announced on Sunday.

Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville and Medora will all compete in Sectional 62 at New Washington High School.

Crothersville competes in the first game on Feb. 27 against New Washington at 6 p.m. The winner will meet Rising Sun in the top half of the bracket on March 1.

Trinity Lutheran drew Shawe Memorial in its opening game, which will follow the Crothersville game on that Tuesday. The winner will face Medora in the sectional semifinal on March 1 after the Rising Sun game.

Brownstown Central

The Braves received their Class 2A Sectional 46 news on Sunday, matching up with Henryville on Feb. 28 in the second game. This contest is expected to start at 7:30 p.m.

Sectional games are taking place at Southwestern (Hanover) High School.

Seymour

The Owls will host the Class 4A Sectional 15 once again at Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium beginning on Feb. 27. Seymour will compete in the opening game against Jeffersonville at 6 p.m. The winner of this matchup will face off with Floyd Central on March 1.
