Seymour Common Council has packed agenda Monday night

The Seymour Common Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at city hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

The agenda includes a statement of benefits for Dicksons Inc., (one personal, one real estate), compliance with statement of benefits for Excel Manufacturing Inc. (four personal), a statement of benefits for Cummins Inc. (three personal, two real estate) and compliance with statement of benefits for Cummins (15 personal, 11 real estate).

Also, second readings of ordinances to rezone a portion of property in the 11000 block of East U.S. 50, amend the 2024 salary of certain city employees and amend city code to update animal control duties.

Resolutions to be introduced include approving certain matters in connection with the amendment of an economic development plan and economic development area and approving a transfer from the general fund to the rainy day fund.

The council also will be presented a resolution approving tax abatements for Dicksons for qualified personal property, Templeton Commercial Properties LLC for real estate improvements and Cummins for real estate improvements and qualified personal property.

Ordinances to be introduced include creating a new police department budget line item and approving a transfer of funds and authorizing the acquisition, construction and installation of certain improvements to the city sewage, issuance of additional revenue bonds to finance the cost, collection segregation and distribution of the revenues and safeguarding of the interest of the owners of the bonds and other matters, including the issuance of notes in anticipation of the bonds.
