Brownstown Central

The Braves faced off with Corydon Central on Saturday evening.

Brownstown dominated the opponent by 50 points to secure it’s 16th win of the season. Jack Benter scored 24 points for the Braves in the victory with Adam Stahl chipping in 16 points. Colby Hall scored 14 points with Lane Pendleton adding 10 for Brownstown Central.

The team will now face Columbus East on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The team will look for its 17th win of the season.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars sought their fourth straight win against Saturday evening against Jac-Cen-Del.

Trinity would extend the winning streak after defeating the Eagles 55-43.

Hudson Lang led the team in scoring with 19, while Kowan Gross added 16. Reed Mellencamp scored nine points with Levi Pottschmidt adding five. Lang also led the team in rebounds with five, while Kade Gillaspy and Mellencamp both secured four for the Cougars.

The Cougars will now travel to Shawe Memorial on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls competed in their Hoosier Hills Conference meet on the boys side on Saturday at Jeffersonville High School.

Columbus East took the top spot in the competition with Floyd Central finishing runner-up.

Seymour finished in third place with a team score of 200.

The best finish for the team came in the 200-yard freestyle relay from Lane Mellencamp, Will Proffer, Chaze Combs and Colin Hartung finishing in second place in the event, clocking a time of 1:36.58.

Hartung would have a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with Mellencamp finishing in fourth in the 100-yard butterfly competition. Cole Simmons finished fourth in the 1-meter diving contest.

The Seymour boys will now host one final regular-season meet with Providence and Henryville on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.
