YUMA, ARIZONA

Gary Lee Hatton, 69 years of age, was met unexpectedly by God’s loving arms at his home in Yuma, Arizona on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Gary was born January 21, 1954 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Patricia Jean Tutterow and Phillip Melvin Hatton. He was a 1972 graduate of Martinsville High School. Gary entered the United States Army on January 28, 1972 until April 13, 1986, having served two separate enlistments and later working for the federal government until retiring.

During his career in the US Army, Gary met and married Catherine Ann Tree of Green Bay, Wisconsin and two children were born from this union. Gary is survived by his son, Sean Christopher Hatton and wife Amy Renee Hatton, his daughter Angela Marie Hatton; his grandsons, Jameson Bradley Hatton and Preston Lee Hatton and bonus grandchildren, Kennedy Renee Cockerham, Alyx Jay Cockerham, Remy Elle Cockerham, and Byshop Oliver Cockerham. Gary is also survived by his two younger sisters, Debbie Jean Ferguson and Billie Alesia Hatton, his niece Melissa Dawn Ferguson, nephew Darrin Thomas Ferguson and great niece Lucrezia (Lucy) Ann Thomas.

The burial will be at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00pm Saturday, January 27, 2024 located at 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, IN 47250.
