Credit union raises more than $100,000 for United Way agencies

Each year, Centra Credit Union and its team members support their local United Way agencies through a workplace campaign.

More than 290 team members pledged their contributions to United Way for a total of more than $104,000 during Centra’s 2023 campaign, according to a news release from the credit union.

“Centra is honored to support the United Way agencies in the communities we serve each year,” President and CEO Rick Silvers said. “These donations help each agency provide support to those in need, which help make our communities a better place to live and work.”

These donations went directly to United Way agencies in the communities Centra serves.

This year’s program raised a total of $104,832.50 in donations to 13 United Way agencies:

• Brown County Community Foundation – $520

• Decatur County United Fund – $765

• Metro United Way – $13,631.50

• Shelby County United Fund – $975

• United Way of Bartholomew County – $78,562.25

“This is one of my favorite programs that the Centra Foundation holds each year,” Centra Director of Community Involvement Jenni Carr said. “Being able to support so many United Way agencies across Centra’s footprint is an amazing feeling, and I love that I get to be a part of that impact.”

As of 2017, Centra and its team members have come together to help raise more than $528,000 for United Way agencies as part of the annual workplace campaign.
