Instead of a regular meeting of the All Seasons Garden Club, the group gathered for a fun day Jan. 8 at Tampico Christian Church, hosted by Peggy Broshears and Rita Wischmeier.

The theme for the gathering was ugly Christmas sweaters. A contest of the ugliest sweater was held with Jean Barkman winning. Her sweater was that of Elf.

As the members arrived, the tables were decorated with lots of chocolates and handmade dishcloths and scrubbies for everyone. Refreshments were ham and cheese and chicken salad sandwiches, chips, pretzels, a relish tray of pickles and olives and funeral cake for dessert. Various drinks and coffee also were served.

Next on the agenda, a fun game of 25 words or less was played with Martha Wilson and Sandy Kovener winning. I won the lucky plate prize.

Nita Bridges read a thank-you letter from HOPE Medora Goes Pink for the generous donation of $310 at the Christmas party.

Treasurer Rita Wischmeier discussed the money that is given to the hostesses each December to help cover costs of that meeting. Kovener told the group that the 2024 books would be ready when the group meets in February.

It was decided that the officers will remain the same for this year as well as the committees. It also was noted that Shirley Lewis and Kovener have been members for 40 years for Lewis and 35 for Kovener.

Darlene Groseclose told the group of an idea for the July meeting, which is to be a road trip of some sort. She looked into a trip to Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, which would include meals and an overnight stay. The group is to decide on this in the near future.

Lewis had ideas for either a cookbook or decorated recipe cards that the group may consider doing.

Again, Bridges informed the group Feb. 5 is the next fun outing at her home.

After this, the group was dismissed.
