Wind advisory in effect for Jackson County

A wind advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Saturday in Jackson County, according a National Weather Service advisory.

South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.

There are reports of several trees down across the county, including one across Laurel Street in Seymour, and a portion of the roof of Blondie’s Pizzeria & Pub on Main Street in Brownstown has been blown off.

Motorists are to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle, and the National Weather Service advises residents to secure outdoor objects.
