Girls basketball

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves traveled down to New Albany for a varsity-only matchup on Monday evening.

Brownstown got back to its winning ways, defeating the Bulldogs 55-28 to improve to 13-5 on the season.

Harley Toppe and Mallory Klosterman led the way in scoring efforts. Toppe had 13 points, while Klosterman chipped in 12, hitting four 3-pointers. Kinzee Dean scored seven points for the Braves. Hailey Hobson snatched six steals for Brownstown on the defensive side. Jenna Klosterman recorded six assists in the winning effort.

The girls will now travel to Greensburg on Thursday to face the 13-3 Pirates. The game will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Crothersville

The Lady Tigers hosted South Decatur on Tuesday at Crothersville High School.

South Decatur took control from the beginning, taking a 18-2 lead after the first quarter.

It wouldn’t get any easier for the Tigers, who dropped the contest 70-28 and now fall to 3-14 on the season.

Crothersville will now host Dugger Union on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Medora

The Lady Hornets were dominant on Tuesday evening against Columbus Christian. The 61-34 victory was their largest of the season, led by two girls who both scored at least 20 points.

Aaralyn Hackney led the way with 25 points, hitting 5 three-pointers for Medora. Jenna Bowers scored 20, hitting 10-of-16 from the free-throw line.

The girls will now host Clarksville tomorrow at Medora High School, taking place at 6:30 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls traveled down to Salem for a matchup with the Lions on Tuesday evening. Seymour would defeat their opposition by 26 points in a 58-32 win. The team would shoot 22-of-32 from the field and 10-of-13 from the free-throw line.

The team improves to 10-3 on the season and will travel to Columbus East for a game on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
