Seymour

Seymour traveled to Martinsville on Saturday evening for a matchup with the Artesians.

The Owls picked up their seventh win of the season, slowing down their opposition for a 43-30 win. It’s the least amount of points Seymour has allowed all season.

Three Owls players scored 12 points in the victory. Brady Harpe, Michael Brooks and Bret Perry all had a dozen on the scoreboard in the 13-point win.

The boys will now prepare to travel to Charlestown on Friday to face the Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars competed with Tri-Township on Friday evening to finish out the Switzerland County tournament.

Trinity Lutheran dominated the Tigers 68-41 to grab another win this season, led by Reed Mellencamp, who scored 24 points to lead the Cougars. Hudson Lang added 15 for Trinity, while Kowan Gross scored 14 points.

Trinity was all over the boards, securing 27 rebounds, led by Lang, Mellencamp, Gross, and Kade Gillaspy, who all grabbed 5 rebounds a piece.

The team will now host the defending Class 1A state champion in Indianapolis Lutheran who comes to Trinity tomorrow for a matchup at 7:30 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Braves competed in the Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle High School on Saturday, facing Brownsburg and Crispus Attucks in the tournament.

Brownstown Central defeated Brownsburg 56-48 to advance to the championship with Attucks. In the championship game, Attucks defeated the Braves 76-51 to claim the throne in the tournament. Brownstown was without Jack Benter.

Parker Hehman received the Jennings Scholarship while also being part of the Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament with teammate Colby Hall.

The Lady Braves were back in action on Tuesday, hosting Madison at The Pit. Brownstown seeked its 12th win of the season, coming in at 11-4. Class 3A Madison came into the matchup with a 7-7 record.

The Lady Braves edged the Cubs 54-50 to improve to 12-4 on the season.

Jenna Klosterman led all scorers with 17 points for Brownstown, while Harley Toppe and Mallory Klosterman both added 10 for the Lady Braves. Sophie Wischmeier added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the winning effort.

The team will now prepare to host Mid-Southern Conference foe Charlestown on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The girls then travel to face New Albany on Monday at 7 p.m.
