Merle F. and Leota J. Barnett of Seymour celebrated 55 years of marriage on Thursday.
Merle and the former Leota Stuckwisch were married Dec. 28, 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. Victor Mack.
The couple have three children, Kimberly Barnett of Seymour, Kristine Carr, who is deceased, and Shawn (Angela) Barnett of Springfield, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Autumn Potteiger and Rachel Barnett, both of Texas, Evan Barnett of New Mexico and Kaitlyn (Evan) Zook of Seymour; and a great-grandchild, Aiden Simpson.
Merle is retired from Cummins Engine Co., while Leota is retired from Dicksons Inc.
