Sharon L. Peters, age 65, of Medora, passed away on the evening of Friday, December 15, 2023, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was a member of White Creek Lutheran Church.

She loved her family dearly, especially her children, and she was proud of each one of them. Sharon was a “people” person, as she loved being around people. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Leon, planting flowers, listening to Conway Twitty and Elvis music, and she was an avid coin collector.

Sharon was a very intelligent lady. She worked at Mitchell &Stark, Biehle Electric, and Dollar General in Brownstown.

Born on September 16, 1958, in Seymour, Sharon was the daughter of Richard Dean Hall and Janet Ferguson (Charles) McKinney, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 15, 1992, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora, she married Leon Ralph Peters, and he survives in Medora.

Survivors also include one son, Joey Charles of Columbus; one daughter, Amber (Jason) Russell of Seymour; one step-son, Jeff (Cindy) Peters of Vallonia; one brother, Bo (Joanie) McKinney of Palmyra; three sisters: Karen Clifton of Seymour, Peggy Hurley of Seymour, and Tammy White of Medora; seven grandchildren: Kaitlin Charles, Kim Charles, Krissy Charles, Matthew (Hannah) Russell, Jessica (Joe) Harmeyer, Shane (Lindsey) Peters, and Ryan (Emma) Doty; three great-grandchildren; five step-sisters: Sandy, Peggy, Diane, Carolyn, and Gina; and four step-brothers: Jeffrey, Drew, Johnny, and Rick.

Sharon was also preceded in death by one son, Nathan Charles; one step-daughter, Jill Peters; one step-sister, Rita; and one step-brother, Freddy.

Funeral services for Sharon L. Peters will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will follow at White Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to White Creek Lutheran Church.
