Seymour

The Owls swimming and diving teams competed in their S Invitational on Saturday morning. Seymour defeated every other team in the invite to win the meet.

The boys are now at 11-0 on the season.with the girls sitting at 8-1-1.

Seymour will now prepare for a meeting with Jennings County on Saturday at 10 a.m, taking place at Jennings County High School.

Boys basketball

Medora

The Hornets faced off with Vincennes Rivet on Saturday evening on the road. Medora would drop their matchup with the Patriots, losing 56-44.

Hudson Johnson led the way in scoring for Medora with 14 points. Damian Salas also added 10 for the Hornets. Kade Wright scored 8, while Jaxon Nugen finished with 5 points.

The boys now fall to 1-3 on the season, with Vincennes improving to 2-3 after the victory.

Crothersville

Crothersville competed against Lighthouse Christian on Friday, defeating the Lions, 60-47 for their second win of the season. It was their second straight win, after defeating Cannelton on the previous Friday.

Beau Napier led the Tigers in scoring with 17 points, while Adam Turner added 16 in the win for Crothersville.

The Tigers then went on the road on Saturday to face the #18 Class 1A ranked team in Borden.

The Braves defeated Crothersville 78-47 to get their fourth win of the season. Napier was on fire from behind the arc, hitting 8-of-9 attempts from three.

The effort tied his current teammate in Dirk Crater for the most threes in a game by a Tiger with 8. Napier scored 29 points in the game, Crater chipped in 13 of his own in the losing effort.

The JV team dropped their matchup with the Braves, 53-26.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars had two games over the weekend, facing Southwestern (Shelbyville) and West Washington.

Trinity was successful in both games, picking up their first two wins of the season. The boys defeated the Spartans on Friday, 72-58, before going down to face the Senators on Saturday, beating them, 58-46.

Trinity will now prepare to host Clarksville to face the Generals on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. The JV contest will start at 6 p.m.

The Seymour High School Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2023 will be inducted this Saturday night during the Seymour-Jennings County boys basketball game. The people being inducted are Andy Denny, Bob Bowman, Dave Boggs, Bud Shippee, and Arv Koontz.

The inductees reception will start at 5 p.m. in the Commons. The Junior Varsity game will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the Hall of Fame induction will take place between games.

Girls basketball

Crothersville

The Lady Tigers faced off with Rock Creek Academy on Saturday afternoon. Crothersville fell to the Lions by 42 points, losing 73-31.

Brooklyn Bottorff led the team in scoring with 10 points. Kelsie Walker and Jojo Clay both added 5 points in the game. The Tigers will now prepare to face off with West Washington on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

The Lady Braves faced off with Austin on Saturday, dropping their matchup with the Eagles, 50-40. Brynn Owens led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points, while Kelsey Hawkins added 13 in the win for Austin.

Sophie Wischmeier led the way for Brownstown, scoring 10 points and grabbing 8 rebounds for the Lady Braves. Kinzee Dean was the second-leading scorer with 8 points.

Brownstown will now face off with Corydon Central on Tuesday, Dec. 12th at 7:30 p.m.

The JV game will get started at 6 p.m. at Corydon Central High School, with the varsity to follow. Brownstown will then host Silver Creek on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Lady Cougars traveled to Orleans to face off with the Bulldogs on Saturday. Trinity would drop the contest with Orleans, 64-51 to fall to 4-4 on the season.

Orleans improved to 9-1 in the 2023 campaign. Trinity was led by Madison Keith, who exploded for 28 points. Keith shot 12-of-15 from the field, along with shooting 3-for-5 from the free throw line.

She was also a huge factor in other areas, grabbing 10 rebounds for the double-double, and swiping six steals for Trinity.

The Cougars will now face off with Shawe Memorial on Tuesday at home. That game will start at 7:30 p.m.
