Duke Energy stocking Anchor House pantry for community

Duke Energy is working with Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry in Seymour to stock its community pantry with staples for families in need during the holidays.

The pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 11 for the Duke Energy-sponsored event.

“We want to help make sure that families visiting the pantry have access to basic staples during the holidays,” said Kylie Foster, Duke Energy government and community relations manager. “Anchor House provides such an important service for families in this area.”

Duke Energy provided Anchor House $3,000 to fund the food and other assistance that will be available that day.

“We are grateful for our continued support from Duke Energy as we serve those in need in our community,” Anchor House Executive Director Megan Cherry said. “We couldn’t do this important work without community backing.”

Duke Energy representatives also will be onsite to offer information on electric bill management program, energy assistance funds and energy efficiency programs.
