Jerry Douglas Hall, age 80, a lifelong resident of Norman, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at IU Health Bedford. He was born on February 22, 1943 to the late Glenn Hall and the late Rettia (Fleetwood) Hall. He was a 1961 graduate of Clearspring High School and on September 27, 1963, he married the love of his life and partner of over 60 years, Carolyn (Speer) Hall of Norman, Indiana. He was a member of Norman Christian Church where he was very active in church building and maintenance projects. Jerry was also the owner of Jerry Hall Lumber Company for over 48 years. He loved his town of Norman and was often called “The Mayor of Norman” by his friends and family. He enjoyed talking and hanging out with his friends at the sawmill and together they were the “Henhouse for men club”. He will forever be remembered as a quick thinker, hard worker, wonderful provider and friendly to all with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working, trap shooting, poker and raising pigs and horses. Above all that he lobed in this life, nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Michael D. Hall of Norman, Indiana, two daughters, Kimberly A, Fredenburg of Greenwood, Indiana and Valarie Marcott and her husband Chris of Norman, Indiana. Four grandchildren, Ashley Getreu (Thomas), Evan Foxworthy, Whitley Todd (Stephen) and Braden Marcott (Taylor). Three great grandchildren, Carson, Cameran, Creighton and one on the way. One brother-in-law Ron Speer and his wife Diane of Leesville, IN and one sister-in-law Karen Hall of Brownstown, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry Kenneth Hall and Daniel Lynn Hall and one sister, Judith Karen McKinney.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM.

He will be laid to rest at Kurtz Cemetery.
