Library announces December book discussions

Jackson County Public Library staff-led book discussion groups for adults in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in December.

Books may be available to check out at the library checkout desks or digitally through Libby or hoopla. Participants unable to read the physical book titles due to the statewide library transit issue are encouraged to bring a favorite or recently read book to share with the group.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss “Miss Benson’s Beetle” by Rachel Joyce at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Culver’s in Seymour. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Due to the location, this group is limited to 10.

Fantastic Fiction, which meets on the third Friday of each month, will meet at the Seymour Library and discuss “Christmas Days” by Jeanette Winterson at 11 a.m. Dec. 15.

The Medora Library discussion group that usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month will meet a week early due to the holiday at 5 p.m. Dec. 19 to talk about “Christmas Bells” by Jennifer Chiaverini.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet in the library meeting room and share thoughts on “Angel Falls” by Kristin Hannah at 6 p.m. Dec. 20.

Registration for the free book discussions is available online at myjclibrary.org/events.
